The ObsSea4Clim coordinator, Steffen Olsen, from the Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI),presented an overview of the project at the ArcticROOS General Assembly held in Bergen, Norway, on 7 May 2024.
Arctic ROOS is an open forum for national agencies, research institutes, universities as well as commercial bodies to inform, share and develop an Arctic Ocean observing system. Established in 2007, ArcticROOS has the mission to integrate European oceanographic and sea ice monitoring and forecasting activities in the Arctic. It is a regional alliance of the European Global Ocean Observing System (EuroGOOS), which is a project partner in ObsSea4Clim, and whose main objective is to harmonize European operational oceanography activities.
This session will share information about ObsSea4Clim’s goals, objectives, challenges, approach and building blocks to the ArcticROOS community.
